Here's your host, Brandon Adam. I think sometimes my

greatest strength is also my biggest weakness. Perhaps many of you are kind of the same way.

This is perhaps true for me in both how I do the show and sort of also how I live my life.

I am naturally kind of what you might call like a contrarian, I'm always really attracted to whatever the opposite sometimes of like what sort of mainstream opinion is.

And there's like a way to like put this in like a really positive frame.

Like if you ever heard the line, I think it's attributed to Warren Buffett, the famous investor that you want to be greedy when everybody else is panicked

and panicked when everybody else is greedy. There's a way to sort of frame that kind of contrarian

style thinking, a very positive way, that it's a good way to sort of be smart. It's a good way to

kind of, if you want to put it in that kind of context, make a lot of money in investing because

public is frequently wrong. So therefore, if a lot of money and investing because public is frequently

wrong. So therefore, if you're the opposite direction of the public, you might have a chance to

be right and sometimes right in a very big way. So that's the sort of positive framing for that.

But at the same time, I'll be the first to tell you. As someone who's like excessively contrarian

and almost can't help but be, it's almost like I'm allergic to common opinion, whatever common opinion might be.

There's also a way in which you're kind of almost sometimes in like a prison of your own making

because you just don't really trust anything and you sort of don't really believe anybody.

And sometimes I sort of feel like I get kind of caught up in that sometimes.

It's almost too contrarian for my own good, to going against the grain for my own good.

I don't mind to tell you that sometimes in life, I feel like that might be true for me.
