I'm Chad Dundas. I got Ben Folks on the Skype machine. We're both senior writers in MMA for the Athletic, and we talk every week about all the prominent, newsworthy, and hilarious happenings in the world and mixed martial arts. Ben, we got kind of an unorthodox setup

this week. I'm over here in Portland at my brother's house. I'm going to be reading at Powell's

tomorrow night. So we're trying to record this episode of the CME via Skype because obviously we had

Connor McGregor and Donald Serroney fight at UFC 246 over the weekend. But this is a wing and a prayer, man. I'm locked in a

tiny room in my brother's basement up until about two minutes ago. There was a real loud

bird right outside my window. So we're going to see how far we get here. Maybe we'll finish

this up with a phone call if the internet connection doesn't hold out. Yeah, well, hey, I'm over here

at my house, and it's Martin Luther King Day, so my kids

are off school, and somehow my daughter has a friend over, and they're going nuts, and I'm

really, really second-guessing my decision to give my daughter a set of walkie-talkies for her

birthday.

Oh, that's weird.

My kids got walkie-talkies for Christmas.

Yeah. kids got walkie-talkies for Christmas. Yeah, it's a great way to be woken up at like 6 a.m.

With somebody just, you know, just spouting nonsense and calling you a poopie pants into a

walkie-talkie or first thing in the morning. I mean, I can't think of a better way to wake up,

frankly. All right. just to remind everybody tomorrow

night i'm at powell's books in portland wednesday i'll be in uh houston texas at murder by the book

and then thursday i am in phoenix arizona at poisoned pan come see me if you live in those
