Previously on very scary people, after six members of the defaul family were slain overnight

in their home, police investigated every lead.

After the only living member of the defaul family led police to believe that the defaul's

might have been connected to the mob, the police looked into it.

Folks in Amityville knew they were connected to the mob.

But the mob leads, fascinating as they were, felt like a dead end.

The police weren't any closer to solving the case.

In this, is when the focus of the investigation turned to Ron DeFaeo, Jr., the oldest and only

surviving member of the defaul family.

The night the defaul's were murdered, police conducted a thorough search of the ocean avenue

home.

They walked up those red carpeted stairs in search of a weapon or something, anything

that they could use as evidence.

But after an extensive search, there was no smoking gun.

Instead, they found Ron Jr.

He was sitting outside the house, crying, inconsolable.

He had just returned from Henry's bar, where he had driven and asked for help upon finding

his parents and four siblings dead.

Now, Ron Jr. was back home, while police combed through the house for evidence.

He was visibly upset, but he was, by his own recollection, nervous that night.
