In this episode, we'll talk about everything food production, food security, agriculture and

food systems.

It's an important year for the global food security debate.

And if we see the very heated European political debate on this topic, it's not looking

very promising.

The biggest political family, EPP or European People's Party, declared officially that they

want to end any further greening policies for agriculture, and all policies that improve biodiversity for that matter.

President Macron, Ursula Vonderlein and the Belgian Prime Minister de Croix now also

defend this position. A position that was carefully prepared for by powerful

agrochemical corporations and their lobby agents.

The main and very fake argument they use since the war in Ukraine started is,

we need to boost food production. So to find out more about the issue of food security,

we'll talk to special UN rapporteur on the Right to Food, Michael

Fackery, who is based in the US.

Fackri presented his report on conflict and the right to food to the Human Rights Council

of the UN General Assembly this spring.

And in that report, he gives an account of how different forms of violence in food systems harm people

and generate the conditions that lead to human rights violations, like hunger. According to
