episode this week. This is a one-on-one conversation I had with Trevor McTheDrees. He's the founder

of Friends with Benefits, Lil' Makela and Brud. But before that, he was known as DJ Skitski.

He was of MySpace DJ, he was once sponsored by the brand Skullcandy. He was also Katy Perry's

touring DJ and many others. He has a really, really interesting story and rise to fame.

Was there a step before this? You had a show, right?

Well, I mean, so this is the ads, all kind of. So I was DJing in LA and went to South by South

West with a minute tighten of the kind of blog house, Aira, Ronny, Owen, Ronny, ThetaRoof. And we

waited so much out west for his like, I want to say 800-900 Civic with like 300,000 miles, no breaks,

I had like pulled the side of the curb or the side of like the shoulder of the freeway to stop

effectively. You see, still see those cars on our own?

Facts. Strong. Strong. And we got to South by and the plan was, I mean, it was funny,

I was just bullshitting. Like I had on MySpace page and I would put up tour dates across

the world or say I was touring across the world, but I had like none of that. And so I put up like

South by Southwest on MySpace. And Ronny and I would kind of crash parties and I would bring my

DJ stuff and hope that people wouldn't show up. And so like and then Ronny would document it. So

like I went to the nylon magazine party, which was another thing of that era. And I remember I think

like James Ford of this like producer didn't show up for a while and I was like, I can DJ.

Oh, you would hope that like the DJ wouldn't show up. Yeah. So I could like sneak on and then

Ronny would take photos and I could like post to my MySpace like, no, they're sick gig DJing.
