too much too soon. Last time, as the Rejev Salient was being attacked, the Soviets created

another headache for the invaders by trying to approach Vyazma from the southeast.

The why of this was to push Armour Group Center's center section back to be on par with its wings,

which had already been bent back. But as we have seen, the Soviet penetration that was trying

to reach Vyazma was soon attacked from the north and south. The question was,

could General Zhukov help this penetration with supplies and reinforcements, before its leading

troops were cut off by the Germans' pitzer attack? For if the Soviets took Vyazma,
