When. When you're, when. Hi islanders tonight is a tragic story a story about a trusted family member that goes feral and attacks the ones

closest to him out of the blue for no apparent reason at all. We had the case in Western Australia recently where a grandfather

shot and killed his wife, his daughter and then his grandkids before turning the gun on himself.

Well this happened 10 years ago in a place called Kowera.

Now Kowera is a good four hours drive west of Sydney with a population of around 10,000 people.

It is a small but important town.

In fact during World War II there was a prisoner of war camp for Japanese prisoners at Kaurah

and on 5th of August 1945 about 545 Japanese POWs attempted a mass breakout resulting in four Australian guards and

231 Japanese killed. Also 108 prisoners were wounded. Now tonight I've used

court records and newspaper articles in the research of this case.
