Previously on very scary people, Ron DeFaeo Jr. struggles to keep his motive straight in court

while under oath. After all the evidence is in, and the last witness has been called,

the jury finds him guilty of six counts of second-degree murder. Ron Jr. would go on to spend

the rest of his life behind bars. But while he was sitting in a prison cell doing

penance for brutally murdering his family, the masses flock to the theaters to watch

a tale spun out of his act of murder. This time though, 112 Ocean Avenue was the main

character, an antagonist unto itself that played a starring role in books and movies about

the occult.

Nearly five years after Ron Jr. murdered his family in the middle of the night in Amity

ville, New York, a movie inspired by this massacre hit theaters everywhere. Based on a book

published in 1977, the film was called the Amityville Horror, starring Margot Kitter and

James Brolin. The film grossed for the 86 million dollars in box offices everywhere.
