Lee is an independent crop consultant from Central North Dakota.

He provides agronomic advice

to help farmers build customized systems to grow and manage crops profitably. He specializes

in helping farmers adopt practices to protect and improve their soil and local environment,

including reduced till, no-till, cover crops, crop rotation, and increased plant and economic diversity.

Hey, Lee, thanks for coming on the show today.

Hello.

Hey, can we start off talking a little bit about your background and sort of what you do for a living?

Yeah, sounds good.

So what I do for a living is I'm an agricultural crop consultant.

I actually work directly with farmers to provide agricultural advice.

And I tell everybody I'm a plant doctor, and I don't just mean that metaphorically.

I actually went to school and had that degree.

I have a doctor of plant health from the University of Nebraska.

But what I do is I work with farmers and I go out and check their fields and do regular checkups,

just like you would think of it, a doctor.

And it's very similar to human beings.
