Hi everybody, my name is Lena, I'm an alcoholic and I would like to thank the group for asking

me to come over and share my experience with this press of recovery.

Can everyone hear me well?

Well, so I haven't done it in some time.

So I guess today when I introduce myself as an alcoholic I don't necessarily refer to

alcoholism as my pathology, as an illness, although it is.

When I think of alcoholism today, for me it's my spiritual path.

It's that sort of graceful predicament that was given me that broke down the resistance

of personal will and some other life became possible.

And it's actually very interesting because when I came here to these rooms and there was

about 14 years ago that I started coming around, I would introduce myself as an alcoholic

and what I would mean was that I was a victim.

I was a victim of this thing that I didn't want, that I couldn't do anything about.

I was a victim of my circumstances, I was a victim of my childhood, I was a victim

of people around me.

That's sort of the consciousness that most of us enjoy when we come to these rooms and

what happens as the result of working the steps from the big book with this sponsor and
