I got here on October 16, 1975 and have been sober ever since one day at a time.

I love AA, it is, I'm so in awe, the longer I'm sober I am so in awe of the construct

of this amazing program that allows me to delve deeper and deeper and deeper into my

most favorite subject of all, which is me, you know, there's nothing like me, me, me,

you know, and so how could I possibly get bored just learning more about me?

Now a lot of it, I gotta tell you, it's not flattering, a lot of it is stuff that I had

not a clue, well actually most of it was the list of stuff that I did not have a clue.

Who knew I was self-centered, I thought of myself as just being the most dramatic kind

of person ever, you know, I just gave, gave, gave and I was just a little martyr running

around and picking up people that I knew were going to hurt me and as I said I had not

a clue of any of this, you know, myself awareness even though I had been to many psychiatrists

where I learned how to blame better but I didn't get any insight at all, you know, it was

just a matter of going and telling the psychiatrist what was wrong with everybody in my life and

why in the heck wouldn't they straighten up and fly right like they should and then I'd
