resilient man. Now as humans we all without exception are going to face adversity.

But some people in our experience, the few, the select few, the heroic few, they seem to respond to it better than others.

In this episode we're going to talk about why that is, and especially we want to discuss what it

means to be resilient, how you can be resilient,

and we're going to look at 1st Peter 4 and we're going to unpack three main strategies for becoming

more resilient in the midst of the adversity trials and

suffering that you face on a daily basis. In a week 11 NFL game against the

Houston Texans in 2018, quarterback Alex Smith suffered a gruesome

compound fracture in his leg.

At first glance it looked like his NFL career was most certainly over and for those who saw the injury right it reminded you of Joe Thiesman It happened like 33 years to the day same day day, same yard line, same stadium, Washington Redskins.

And like I said, it was absolutely gruesome.

It looks like Smith's career is over.

But then after he's taken from the field,

he's taken to the hospital,

they're trying to fix the double fracture in Smith's leg.

Smith's wife, Elizabeth, speaks about what happened then. There were complications that arose and it nearly cost Alex's life.

So this goes from, you know, you got a problem with a broken leg to like this guy might die.

Just 57 hours after the horrific break of his Tibia and fibula, Smith was drifting in and out of consciousness as doctors raced to figure out what was going wrong.
