Sweden to go and have a look at that. And here are the things that I think you need to know

about the new Volvo ES90. Well, Volvo's undergone a significant transformation in its design

philosophy over the decades,

from the boxy, sedans and wagons of the 70s through to the 90s, all about safety, and the smoother

designs of the 2000s. The 2010 saw Volvo adopt a refined, scandy design language marked by

their signature, Thor's hammer headlights and those clean

interior aesthetics. And the move to EV, the opportunity just to have a big slab of glass screen,

does give you the chance to do ultimate minimalism. Look at the Volvo EX30, although that was in the

name of saving costs, they say, as well.

But how far can you drive that minimalism?

I mean, don't we want some buttons in our EVs? Let's find out.

Well, Volvo has always prioritised sedans and wagons and estate cars, even as the market went towards SUVs. The ES90 represents a clear

departure from this tradition. It does look a little bit different with design elements that blend

sedan proportions, and they've got plenty to play with. This thing is over five metres long in terms of

its wheel-based over 3.1 metres. So it's a very

long vehicle, but that means they can raise the height of it. It's almost an SUV height and it still
