SCP 001 Black Adetum Part 6

The path of the bone is finally complete, and Ayune and company have made it to Black

Adetum buried under the earth.

The agreement between the Sarkik and the foundation has been increasingly tentative,

especially with the foundation arriving at the site before them to begin digging around.

It's then shown that Xenophon's memory of their trip down has been blocked,

but it manages to recover the memories with Ayoon's help. We'll now finally get to see what occurred down there and what the future holds.

Let's continue.

We pick things up with Ayn recalling her memories, with all of her memories from her life beginning to jumble together.

She is standing on the edge of an abyss,

a gaping black wound in the earth. This is the locus, what they have been hurtling towards without

control or hesitation. She looks to her left, seeing Xenophon's face, and says that there's so much wisdom and

care veiled behind steel and titanium.

It is a little deception, her little deception.

She then recalls four and a half thousand years ago in the ninth turning, with Atitum lying before her.

A hundred stone-carved buildings sitting in a hand-dug quarry, the canals running red with blood.

Lovatar is next to her, blood dripping from his soft bearded cheeks, with a wild grin on his face

as their people rush down the quarry side, blades and spears raised. He says that they have done

it, and they are free. She then says that she is standing outside time, the memories all coming at once in an unstoppable

rush. The present is happening before her, and the future soaks into her skin on the fumes

of cracking bones. Everything is always happening. Everything has already happened, and everything

will happen.
