During the 1930s, across the Great Plains of the U.S. and parts of Canada,

a period of severe dust storms greatly damaged the agriculture of the region,

It was caused by both multiple periods of severe drought, as well as farmers failing to properly

It's not an especially glamorous period of U.S. history, and so is not often discussed much anymore,
