The Rundelsham Forest encounter has gone through a number of stages since its occurrence at the very end of 1980.

I'm sure you've heard of the Roswell UFO crash.

Briefly, in 1947, a rancher named Mac Braswell discovered debris on his land near Roswell, New Mexico.

He called the Air Force who came out to the site and retrieved the strange collection of materials strewn across the scrub land.

On July 8th, the Roswell Daily Record ran a front page article with the headline,

R-A-A-F captures flying saucer on ranch in Roswell region.

R-A-A-F stands for Roswell Army Airfield.

The Army quickly put out a correction, identifying the wreckage as a downed weather balloon.

What many people don't realize is that the Roswell crash really disappeared from view for about 30 years.

It wasn't really a part of UFO lore until the 1980 publication of The Roswell Incident by Charles Berlitz and William

Moore. This began the Roswell Crash's second life and it eventually became the most well-known
