Hello, Freckled Foodie fam. I am very excited to share today's episode because it is a long time in the making.

0:06.5

Sammy Eason is one of my favorite people to follow on Instagram and I say this in the episode, but I like full-blown fangirled over here over her when I saw her at Expo.

0:18.5

I want to say, I mean, it must have been over three years ago now, but I'm not sure exactly when it was.

0:24.2

I have been a big fan of hers for a very long time because I think she does such incredible job of sharing her honest and raw and sometimes dark emotions on her platform.

0:38.6

She's not afraid to really put it all out there. And I also think she's a fucking superhero because she is a single mom to three boys and dealing with postpartum right now for me.

0:51.5

I'm just like blown away by her ability to somehow get it all fucking done. She is awesome. She has become a good friend of mine and a support system through my postpartum.

1:06.2

And I hope you guys enjoy this episode and check her out on Instagram. Her name is Samantha in person on IG, so be sure to give her a follow.

1:21.9

Sam, thank you for taking the time out of the busiest schedule in the world. I'm so excited to chat with you because I'm sure I'm going to mention this in like the intro recording, but I've been following you for a long time.

1:51.9

And I think recently we've connected more and then we've spoken overtaxed and on the phone and I told you this, but like I have always been such a big fan of your content that when I saw you at expo a few years ago, I was like, oh my god, hi, I like totally fangirled over you, which is uncomfortable for me now.

2:09.7

Like think about I love you. Oh my god, but I think you're just so uniquely wonderful and honest and open and raw and really fucking talented and one of my favorite people to follow on this platform.

2:26.9

You're very sweet. I feel the same about you and I think it was extra cool that we ran into each other in New York two years ago.

2:36.4

Oh, yes, oh my god, I forgot about that too with Olivia. Yeah, yeah, in Rachel outside of yeah, Rachel spot you kitchen. And then that's when I followed you and I was like, whoa, yeah, I told you forgot about that.

2:53.4

And I forgot about expo. Like when you told me about expo, it like didn't ring a bell. And then, but that's also because there's just so many people there's so much going on. I totally forgot we met outside of you kitchen.

3:05.3

So it's nice to like, I feel like now on the motherhood side of thing now that we've connected in this way. It's even more special because we've met in person. Whereas usually with Instagram, you like meet people and you through Instagram.

3:21.1

And you get excited to connect with them and then you meet them in person. And I also think that our relationship deepened in a quickly manner because of motherhood.

3:33.3

Because I do think it's this kind of like invisible group that you don't really know exists until you're in it. And then it's like you can really resonate and understand what someone is going through at a deeper level if you are going through it at that time or have gone through it as well.

3:52.2

And I don't mean that to say like, well, other people don't get it because they do, but it is a very different experience when it's your lived experience. Do you agree with that?

4:01.9

Yes. Yes. And also, I feel like when we did connect, it was very much like, hey, I'm having a really hard time.

4:10.7

Right. And then you were like, I'm having a really hard time too. And it's like, that's when you need to lean on each other in the most.

4:16.6

Yeah. So it's almost like, I feel like a lot of times with moms too, you can skip the whole like, we don't have to even keep in touch regularly. It's just like when you're having a day, you know that you have those people there for you.

4:29.5

And that's, yeah, I just need someone to vent and to tell me it's going to be okay and that they're experiencing it too and that it's normal.

4:38.5

So speaking of motherhood, obviously the steps could go in a way of different directions. And I want it to cover a bunch of different stuff, but you are a mother of three, which, honestly, as a mother of one, I cannot imagine to begin with.
