Summary

Following the French surrender of Canada, General Jeffrey Amherst began working on consolidating British control of North America. Meanwhile, British naval and ground forces captured Martinique. Spain joined the war, and Britain promptly attacked and captured the key city of Havana, Cuba. Finally, France and Britain signed the Treaty of Paris, bringing peace and many territorial changes in North America. Join Jacob and James as they discuss the final stages of the French and Indian War.

Well, in our last episode, we saw that the French finally had to throw in the towel.

They surrendered Canada, and then we saw a little bit of fighting.

Just because they surrendered Canada, it didn't mean the war was over.

In the south, we saw some fighting between the Cherokee nation and some British settlers

in what's often called the Cherokee War, which is considered part of the French and Indian War.

And we're going to see in this episode, once again, the two major powers are not quite finished.

They've got a little bit more fighting to do.

The British are getting greedy, I guess you could say.

They're going to want some more territories and I guess to kind of take a victory lap around the French or to rub salt in their wounds or something.
