Summary

In 2001, when PFC Amanda Gonzalez was found dead in her barracks room on Fliegerhorst Kaserne - she was 4 and a half months pregnant with a baby girl. There were a few rumors about the possible suspect, but Amanda’s case remained cold for decades, despite a reward of up to $125,000 for information leading to an arrest. And then, in 2023, there was an arrest and while the arrest surprised many, the suspect was in law enforcement’s purview from the very beginning, they were just waiting for DNA technology to improve. Join Margot as she discusses Amanda Gonzalez’s cold case and the 2023 arrest of Army veteran Shannon Wilkerson, who was subsequently charged with her murder. 0:34.8	wondered how the army couldn't know who killed her. But you know what? Shame on me
0:38.9	because the army and the FBI have had Amanda on their mind this entire time and they've had a mane on their mind this entire time and they've had a suspect in mind as well but the evidence just wasn't there until
0:49.4	DNA technology became so refined that they were able to pinpoint Amanda's DNA on the
0:55.3	sleeve of the suspected perpetrator's sweater. Amanda's case has been
0:59.5	recommended to me several times throughout the years, but in 2023 when someone was charged with
1:05.3	Amanda's murder, I started to follow the case filings closely, and this year the perpetrator
1:10.9	is supposed to go to to go to trial.
