with me Louise Fletcher and me Alice Sheridan and this

week we have a conversation about our process but I'm gonna just leave it to unfold so I won't go too much into what it's about but it's prompted by a question that was asked in an online group and we just thought it'd be a really interesting chat to have about the way art pieces develop for both of us.

But before we get into that, of course, I just want to know what you've been up to, Alice.

Well, I have been consistently painting hurrah hurrah hurrah which is why I think this this question that I saw kind of stuck out to me because it was chiming with something that I was thinking about as well.

So yeah, it's been a good productive yeah I'll talk a little bit more about that when we get into the main

part but that's pretty much it although I have I've been reading again too I had one of those lovely days you know where you just read a book in a day.

I remember what this is about. I've struggled with reading novels for a while and yeah I read a lot last summer on holiday I tend to read a lot on

holiday and thought right I'm going to keep this going and then came back and

everyday life and it got busy and I never did it and you know there's

something really nice about that so nothing spectacular that I will be

recommending but it was good to have a page turner that got me really stuck in.

Yeah. I have been well yesterday I had a play date with Rachel Davis from California who we both know Rachel for those who don't know her you can find her at Rachel Davis studio but she is she paints abstracts she paints portraits and she also has been recently working with jelly plates and she actually has an online course about jelly plate printing botanicals.

And so she had suggested that she's on holiday over here and she said if I come to you to your new place in Cumbria, I'm kind of, or me, my teenage neighbor is uncovering this woodland and garden that's here and

we're finding all sorts of things and she said well I could we could do some printing

with the stuff that's in your on your land so that's what we did and you know I did

notice I had this idea like well that would be so cool because what we'll do is I'll make these really beautiful

prints of things that are on the land then I'll frame them and put them around the house and it like

tell the story of the land which sounds brilliant doesn't it but of course

forgets about the fact that when you're learning something new you don't make things that you can just

it doesn't work I had that beginnerish feeling of like oh yeah I'm going to be
