Coming up on the exam room. The nurse took my blood pressure and it was 255 over 115

and I was on two different blood pressure medicines. I was on a beta blocker and a calcium channel

blocker. On top of that, my heart rate was over 125. He thought I was going to stroke out right

there. He was getting ready to call 911 and of course I start manipulating like, why don't we just

wait? And he just sat me down. He said, look at your two sick for surgery, your heart's not going

to make it. And even if it does, he's like, I don't know what you're going to do for the narcotics.

Like, you're on so much stuff. I don't even know if the anesthesia is going to work for you.

So he denied me the surgery and I went to bed that night and finished stop thinking about my mother

and mom. You know, she fought so hard just to live one more day. The doctors even asked her

towards the end of her life. They're like, what are you hanging on for? She just wanted one more

day with her family. And you know, out of respect for that, I said, I got to try something.

My guest today is somebody who is just absolutely extraordinary. Lost nearly 300 pounds

overcame food addiction, overcame addiction to drugs. And today is a walking example of what
