Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!
This week Pip is joined by frontman of Gallows, Rattlesnakes, and now Sex Pistols, FRANK CARTER!
It's been a very hectic decade, with a huge amount of the good being balanced out by the bad, but Frank's been present through it all and managed to keep one of the coolest heads you could know. Of course you will surely know Frank from all the bands listed above, and maybe you've been wondering what all that is actually like. Certainly one of the more historically pertinent bands he's currentlly part of might invite a lot of questions, being massively influential and indeed massively controversial for a panoply of reasos. All of this is explored, including untethered stage antics, navigating parenting, also navigating a pandemic while being a creative person, weaving through his many eras, gaming and Twitch and the realities of owning a tattoo studio (Rose Of Mercy, where this was recorded). It's been a decade since the first meeting with Frank - catch up time!

0:00.0 | Welcome, welcome, welcome. This is the distraction pieces podcast episode 607. And I've got a |
0:07.2 | returning guest for you. I've got the legend Frank Carter. What a wonderful thing to have. I can't |
0:13.5 | believe it's been a decade since Frank was on. That blew my mind when I looked that up. If you're |
0:18.7 | not familiar with Frank, Frank is a singer and a tattoo artist. |
0:24.4 | I came to be familiar with Frank through gallows, |
0:27.8 | and then there was pure love, |
0:29.4 | and there was Frank Carr and the Rattle Snakes. |
0:31.6 | Frank is now the frontman of one of my favorite bands of all time, |
0:36.3 | and one of the bands that have influenced me more than |
0:38.4 | anything. But we get into that. If you don't already know, I'm going to leave that to be in the |
0:42.9 | podcast because I get very excited. And you will have heard of them, but you might not know the |
0:48.8 | situation. Yeah, equally, thank you everyone for all the love for the recent episodes. |
0:54.6 | If you've not heard it, go back and listen to the first time Frank was on. |
0:58.9 | But also go back to last week, because I had Cody Frost on, |
1:02.0 | who is also a musician and a tattoo artist. |
1:05.2 | So it was a real kind of crossover of interests. |
1:09.5 | And Frank came up in conversation in that episode and Cody comes |
1:14.1 | up in conversation in this episode. So it's a wonderful mix. Loads of love coming in for the |
1:20.6 | Isha Hussein episode. A lot of people saying it's the best, it's one of the best ever, |
1:24.9 | if not the best ever episode of the distraction pieces podcast. |
1:28.2 | So if you miss that, go back and get stuck in. |
1:31.9 | We talk a lot about surviving as an independent artist in this episode. |
