You know, I love to be mad about people finding works of art that is worth a lot of money

in their basement or in their attic or at a thrift store.

And, you know, it's good for them, and I love to be mad about it because it hasn't happened to me.

Then I see the story yesterday about a painting from Delacroix, this artist from France in the

1800s, and they pass it off in the beginning of, you know, they have another great find

that they didn't know they had from one of France's great

19th century romantic artists and the auctioneer or at least the person who is in charge of

seeing what people have to auction off arrived and he said I was attracted by its magnetism.

It was my gaze went to the painting.

And it was one of Delacroix's The Study of Reclining Lions.

And so it's this great painting of, I don't know how great it is, but they consider it great.

And it's going up for

auction tomorrow, for those of you listing live, today is the 27th of March, 2025. So it goes up

for auction tomorrow. And they're saying that it could, you know, get at least $330,000. Probably

going to go for a lot more. But then as you read the story, you realize that these people knew what they had all

along. They have a certificate that they had from a collector in 1973. They had a letter written by

another Delacroix specialist from 1966. And the painting is also marked with the wax seal from Delacroix's studio sale,

which occurred in the year after his death in 1863.

So, I mean, they knew exactly what they had.

So that makes me, now I'm mad that they tried to pass it off as people not knowing what they had. Does, you know, so that makes me, now now I'm mad that they tried to pass it off
