Ask Desi what she thought about the heavy metal heartbeat in the basement of the cargo hold of

Evacuation Ship Zeta, the last one in the fleet, and she'd tell you this.

It started overnight.

Once the ship reached orbit, it rose to an almost their whisper in the wall, and it only grew louder over the next several days, as the ruins of old earth disappeared behind them. Never to be seen

again. Sayanara, suckers. And honestly, good riddance, what little family she had left wasn't sad to

see her go. Mom was long gone. Dad's empty beer cans couldn't wish her goodbye. Couldn't keep her from packing up her childhood
