Brian Laundrie's mom offered him a shovel and garbage bags if he needed to dispose of a body. This

is according to a letter,

enclosed in an envelope that said burn after reading. In March 22, Petito's family sued

Brian Laundrie's parents and Laundry's former attorney for emotional distress in connection

with her death. Gabby Petito's parents had requested a copy of Roberta Laundry's letter to her son several times

until it was finally released.

We recorded this episode just after the letter was released to the public.

What we want to talk about tonight is the letter that Brian Laundry's mother wrote,

and it's fascinating. Before we get into the content of the letter, I think we should talk about

provenance. Provenance means origins or when this letter was written. So provenance is usually term used in the art world to figure out when a painting was

completed and its origins and who did it and all that kind of stuff.
