Hi, I'm Levar Burton, and this is Levar Burton reads.

In every episode, I hand pick a different piece of short fiction and I read it to

the only thing these stories have in common is that I love them and I hope you will too. You know lots of us struggle

with personal identity. I know I've talked on the pot about my

personal journey with accepting myself, accepting and understanding my race, my

background, my gifts, and my abilities, my place within my family,

and then further defining who I am through my actions. Each of us can have our own version of this personal identity

crisis. And then you know if you're a superhero, as in today's story, then you're also dealing with the burdens of extraordinary

ability and the responsibility to help save the world.

sci-fi, and horror.

She is the founder and editor-in-chief of Correo,

an Ignite-winning and Hugo nominated magazine

of Immigrant and diaspora speculative fiction

with stories that have won the Shirley Jackson Award and been featured in the best of

anthologies.
