And then you start getting these prophecies from Isaiah about the birth of a child.

And I think that this goes all the way back to Genesis 3 where the man and the woman, Adam and Eve,

they're expecting to die having eaten of the fruit, of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

God makes this statement about the seed of the woman. So this announcement of the birth

Thanks for starting with encouragement because these next few moments, I think, are going to be a little darker than normal given the chapters we're covering.

So thank you for beginning with a little bit of light.

So, brothers, last week we talked about Genesis 15 to 17. And we spent the most of our time talking about Abram, Sarah,

Hagar, and the covenant. So we had the covenant ceremony, the kind of weird thing that I compared

to Fantasia, what some of you had never seen, with the smoking pod and the, you know, the boiling

pot or whatever it was. And then we talked about Genesis 17 with the covenant sign of circumcision.

This leads us to the kind of zeroing in on this fulfillment of the promise to Abram. We finally found

out when it was going to happen. And Genesis 1721, we hear that it's going to happen this time next year,

and we find out that the seed's name, the boy's name, is going to be Isaac. All of this

brings us to Genesis 18, where Abraham, because now his name has been changed to Abraham, meets

three interesting men. And this is an audio format, so you didn't see the air quotes that I put around
