And today is incredibly meaningful, particularly if you are a woman who owns a credit card.

And the reason for that is because today, again, is October 28, 2024. And 50 years ago,

on October 28th, 1974, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act was signed into law by

President Gerald Ford. And on this day, 50 years ago, women were finally able to open a credit

card separate from their husbands or fathers as a result of the Equal Credit Opportunity

Act. So today is the ftieth anniversary of if you are a woman listening to this, being able to

go into a bank and open up a credit card without needing a male co-signer. Being able to walk in and choose to open one

on your own. And again, I think so often when we see like, oh, you know, this ax was passed

in this year and this did this and whatever else. And especially if it is something that was

passed prior to us being born,

it's hard to kind of put that into time, right? It's pre us potentially. But when we think about

the 50th anniversary of this, there's a very real chance that you have relatives, female relatives, who were

alive at a point where they weren't, right? Potentially grandmothers or great-grandmothers

where they were not legally allowed to open up a credit card without a male co-signer.
