Now from Times Square, here's what you need to know. I see these all over social media,

these LED masks.

They look a little scary, but we're talking about a new study that's looking at the efficacy of them.

So these are those LED masks that we see often in stores.

They have red and blue light therapy. And this new study published from JAMA Dermatology today looks at the evidence and found

that they are an effective alternative to certain medications even, benzoyle peroxide being one of them,

a topical ingredient to treat acne when compared.

In this study, they looked at over 200 patients from the ages of 15 to 50, adults with mild to moderate acne.

And they found that those who use these

products have significant reductions in inflammatory changes and non-inflammatory changes

that are consistent with that acne that's so annoying to get rid of.

The key here is that you've got to use it consistently and the price can be a problem,

$50 to $100 sometimes for these products, but you can consider it an investment given how much money we spent on facial products alone.
