They say follow the money.

It'll be interesting to monitor how much goes into the council pensions.

When I was younger, the contract was that council salaries were lower, but the pensions

were the golden handcuffs. Now, the public sector salaries were equal to, if not better,

and their pensions are the stuff of dreams for the private sector. It's criminal and needs to

be changed. I've been banging on about this for a very long time. When I first started in radio

back in about 2006-7, I was telling people that, you know, you've got to really be careful about council taxes

because most of them go either to the pensions of the people working for the councils or to the

salaries of those people. And you're right. The salaries used to be lower because the perks were

much better than the private sector. But now the salaries are just as high, if not higher,

because they keep getting pay rises.

And now they've got gold-plated pensions, you know, final salary pensions, absolutely unbelievable.

Let's go talk, though, now to Dr. Paul Stock, head of security and extremism, the policy exchange.

Because a couple of stories in the papers this morning about a home office review.

Actually, beggar belief.

We've got basically the home office saying

that any kind of extremism is a problem, except they now define extremism as being right-wing,

it would seem. Amongst the things that they're warning about, right, is that basically

there are far-right tropes going around. For example, if you think that there's two-tier policing,

that is obviously a far-right trope.
