The pirate republic of NASA had fallen, and Charles Vane was outnumbered.

The British fleets had over 130 guns at their disposal, and over 200 men, needless to

say, his odds did not look good.

Vane had the chews between hanging for his crimes, or going out in a blaze of glory,

and in the end he picked the second option.

He and his men stole a slupe, loaded it with gunpowder, and set it ablaze.

In a scene that seemed pulled straight from a Hollywood action film, his crew aimed

the burning ship straight into the British fleet that had anchored for the night, and

then everyone escaped into their robots.

Moments after reaching Vane's ship, their unmanned floating bomb exploded.

It was all the distraction he needed, as the British scrambled Charles Vane and his pirate

crew sailed out of sight, laughing at the destruction and firing a single shot into the

air.

This summer, Grim and Mile presents continues its journey into the strange, the unusual,

and the fascinating.

For our newest season, we'll be taking to the high seas, to explore one of history's most

notorious group of criminals, the world of pirates.

From naval battles and buried treasure to deadly sword fights and barrels of rum, pirates

represent a lot about the human spirit.

In fact, it's hard to find anyone who hasn't bumped into their tails of adventure.

So prepare to raise anchor and hoist the sail.
