Welcome to Goop Tales, Episode 42, Picky Eda and the White Croatian Truffles.

I'm Maria Kalanchini, and I'm the author of Goop Tales.

So, happy 2018. And before I get started with this goop tale,

I just want to apologize for something. I got a really sweet email from a family that listens

to Goop Tales over the holidays, and they were wondering if I was okay

because I hadn't put out a goop tail in a long time. And I apologize for that because I did say

that I was going to put one out every other week and I bit off a little more than I could chew

towards the end of the year.

So moving forward in 2018, it really is my goal to be much more consistent with putting these out a couple times a month.

And I'm getting my production schedule in order and I'm getting my sound editor in order because it just takes a lot of work behind the scenes to get everything ready to roll.

But I apologize for saying that because I shouldn't have made a promise I couldn't keep.

But let's look forward to 2018 and way more goptails.

And in today's episode, we are going to go to Croatia,

a land that I have never been to and am hoping to go to this year.

And if I do, I will let you know and put up some photos of that on social media.

And we're going to go meet Picky picky eater, who as you can imagine,

is a picky eater. And I'm sure somebody listening to this must be a picky eater. I actually thought

of my nephew, who is a very, very picky eater, my nephew Teo.

And he inspired bits of this story.

So in any case, picky eaters going to go to Croatia, where she has some very unusual encounters,

and where she finds some white truffles. And the reason it's white truffles is because

when I was researching the story, the largest white truffle ever was found in Croatia. And white
