Hey everyone, I couldn't let my favorite day of the year go by without giving you all a Halloween treat.

So here's a special mini episode.

It's partially a disturbing true crime story straight out of Japan,

but it's also a story that just might make you a

believer in ghosts as well. So without further ado, I'm Nate Hale with no

tricks, just a treat, and this is out of Japan. A mushroom collector was out one day looking for his daily harvest.

He headed toward Mount Gariyu in Hiroshima Prefecture. This was a great location to find wild mushrooms, but as he drove along he spotted several police officers alongside the road.

They were passing out missing persons flyers to people.

The grim expressions on the officer's faces spoke volumes. The mushroom

collector had heard about the story of the girl that they were all looking for and

he like a lot of people was losing hope.

A couple weeks earlier on October 26, 2009, a university student named

Miyako Hirooka vanished.

The mushroom It was dark and round and poking out of a blanket of leaves.

The mushroom collector's pulse quickened as he rushed over towards his prize.

But the instant he reached out and touched the dark shape, he realized this wasn't a mushroom. The man stumbled backwards,

backwards, gasping for breath.

He turned and ran as fast as he could along the path.

He fumbled in his pocket looking for his phone.

His fingers felt clumsy as he punched in the number for emergency services.

But at first there was no signal.

He just had to keep running.
