Summary

With much of the world shut down over the last year, HBM host Jeff Emtman started wondering if there were smaller venues where the world still felt open.

In this episode, Jeff interviews Chloé Savard of the Instagram microscopy page @tardibabe about the joy of looking at small things, and whether it’s possible to find beauty in things you don’t understand.

Chloé also gives Jeff instructions for finding tardigrades by soaking moss in water and squeezing out the resulting juice onto slides.

1:19.6	Yeah, so the first thing is to find moss. So it's like the first tardigrade I found was from
1:28.3	a moss from the sidewalk like cracks. So it can be there or on a rock, on a tree.
1:36.0	Give a little bit of this moss and then soak it in water.
2:02.4	I'm just gonna let some of this filter to water out.
2:06.5	It's plenty. So if there is a tardigrade that is like in their dormant state,
2:14.0	they'll have the time to like wake up from it and just came like coming back to life.
2:20.7	And I'm just gonna leave this to soak overnight. And that's basically it, so yeah.
2:28.4	And hopefully some little tardigrades wake up. Wouldn't that be nice?
