They go outside to the car, which is parked around the corner, which is a little strange,

because it's a little bit off the beaten track on the side of that street.

You mean he parks the cars, says the parking lot right up front, where after he says he's worried about his wife's safety,

he instead parks in a dark alley behind the restaurant.
