Summary

20 years on from Liverpool's historic Treble cup-winning season of 2000/01 under the guidance of Gerard Houllier, we take a trip down Memory Lane. Join Guy Clarke and Dan Kay as they reminisce on the start of the journey that would see the Reds win the League Cup, UEFA Cup and FA Cup in the space of one season. To kick the series off, which will run from August through to May, they look back on a summer of transfer activity in which Gary McAllister, Markus Babbel and Nick Barmby were all brought to Anfield along with Houllier's other recruits as Liverpool looked to start fast after a frustrating end to the 1999/00 campaign.
