We're going to be back here on this Friday afternoon.

We're under 10 hours away from funeral for Pope Francis at the Vatican.

And we wanted to bring somebody on who spent a lot of time there.

Most recently, as last week of the last post, Archbishop Joseph Merino was right outside.

And knew Pope Francis very well for a long, long time.

And Archbishop certainly we greet you with great condolences

and great appreciation for you coming on at a time like this.

Well, thanks for having me, Paul. It's been, to say

the least, a dramatic week. I think we all knew that he was sick and he did appear during some of the

Holy Week ceremonies, Palm Sunday, and Easter Sunday particularly,

but I don't think anyone thought that would be his last appearance.

But then, of course, he passed away Sunday morning, early Sunday morning over in Rome.

And tomorrow is the funeral, as you just mentioned.

And from I understand, thousands of people

have been viewing his body.

You mentioned that I did have the privilege to work with him or under him, I guess, when you

work for the Pope is under him, right?

So anyway, and so many, so many memories. I remember the first or the
