We have an incumbent president, and the man who defeated him four years earlier is running against him to reclaim the White House.

So we have two presidents, one current

and one former, running against each other. The former president has a core of fervent supporters

who see him as the only person in the country who isn't bought by the corrupt government

establishment. The nation is dealing with a number of complicated issues, namely what role should it play on the

world stage, and what is the best route for prosperity? Many are worried that the incumbent's

president's economic policies will increase inflation. This might sound like 2024, but it's

actually 1892. That election was between the former president, Democrat Grover Cleveland,

and the sitting president, Republican Benjamin Harrison. In that election, Cleveland did what no other

person in American history has been able to do, win back the presidency after losing it previously.

In 2024, Donald Trump is trying to do exactly that.

So what lessons can we learn from 1892? Our guest today will help us find out. His name is Bruce

Oh, thanks for having me on. Really appreciate it. This is primarily an episode about

Grover Cleveland. So give us an idea of who he was and what his background was.

Grover Cleveland, of course, most famously was the 22nd and 24th president and the only person to serve as president

in a non-consecutive manner. And that's how he's known in history. It's also interesting to say

that he's the only Democrat, only president of the Democratic Party to serve in the later

half of the 19th century after the Civil War. And his background is a fairly simple one.
