So welcome back to the Hackett Out Golf podcast. Today we're talking the rule change of driver

length going from 48 inches down to 46 inches and what this means

for the future and maybe other rules and ideas around golf and golf on the PGA tour and

how the rules change myself and Lou Stagner looking forward to this one.

Lou, we're back to 46 inches possibly because it's a funny rule, isn't it, one that

lots of people probably have never heard of before.

It's a, is it called a model local rule?

So basically, for people who don't know, the driver length maximum was, or still is, as point of filming this

or recording this podcast, is 48 inches, but there will be a model local rule that comes in

that allows people, I guess, clubs or organisations to adopt, which means that players won't

be able to compete with a driver that's longer than

46 inches long. Is that, am I reading that correctly? You are. And, you know, I want to lead off by

saying nothing gets me more excited than rule changes, especially around equipment. So it's really

the best part of the game and it's what I look forward to. So this is going

to be a great podcast. Yeah, it's going to be fun. It's going to be fun. So it is the rule is changing

possibly is kind of what we could say. Now we've got a tweet from Phil Mickelson, which we're going
