For the Christian church,

this is the most significant sacred week of the year.

We call it Holy Week.

This is the week that is set aside globally every year to remember on Friday the death,

the murder, the execution, and the persecution of Jesus Christ in anticipation and

expectation for the celebration of his resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Today I have the great honor of teaching God's word, and we will continue in our study

of the book of Hebrews, answering the question, what is a covenant relationship with God

in Hebrews chapter 8, verses 1 through 13? If you've got your Bibles, you're welcome to find

that place in the scriptures. I'll read them over you in just a moment. But this sermon and this

service will be a bit different, a bit more distinct and dark, as we're looking at the most devastating, despicable act

in the history of the world that led to the outpouring of grace
