Hello everyone, Tom Clarkson here, and for the first time in 2025, it's Race Week.

Formula One is back, and so is F1 Beyond the Grid, the official Formula One podcast,

where the fastest drivers in the world slow down and open up.

For our first show of the new season, I've been speaking to Liam Lawson, who did everything he possibly could to get his seat at

Red Bull Racing. I was banging down their door, you know, trying to obviously show them that I was

ready. At the start of last year I felt completely out of

like had no control. It was horrible the first part of that year. Even though Christian told me that he

would give me a chance, you're trusting that one word that was given to me back in 2023. You have no

idea when that's going to be. I felt so out of control like I couldn't do anything. So I just tried to put

as many things in my control.

The relationships, and especially with Christian,

make sure that he was aware that I was training.

I was really.

I was basically overly confident for a position maybe that I wasn't ready for,

but I was trying to show him that I was.

Liam also talks about being Max Verstappen's new teammate, his battles with Sergio Perez last season,

and he describes the moment when he found out he'd got the Red Bull seat.
