It will be no surprise to anyone that the city of Oakland and Northern California has been plagued with the same rampant,

unceasing crime wave that most major cities in America are experiencing right now.

In and out, a California burger chain that has never closed a store in the history of their business closed their very first location in Oakland earlier this year because of safety concerns.

Other chain department stores have left the area.

CVS Pharmacy has been closing locations and the stores that remain open have had to lock

up nearly all their products.

There are roving theft rings and gang violence and open-air drug markets as homelessness

has become untenable.

Oakland is an apocalyptic nightmare in what is supposed to be the most civilized nation on

earth.

City and state leaders seem uninterested in or unable to curb the chaos, although they're

making an effort to pretend they are.

As crime continues to expand,

the latest victims are streetlights. That's right, people are stealing the electronic components

directly out of Oakland traffic lights. This is clearly both a serious safety issue and an

infrastructure issue. So what did Oakland leaders do about it?

Did they form a police task force to catch traffic light thieves? Pass harsher penalties?

Post more law enforcement? L.O.L. No. They took out the traffic lights.

Oakland is replacing traffic lights in high theft areas with stop signs.
