As I explained in a recent podcast, the death of compassion,

progressive policies in urban America are visibly draining mainstream society of our ability for compassion.

Recently, 30-year-old homeless man Jordan Neely lost his life on a New York City subway after a passenger put him in a chokehold following Neely's erratic behavior towards other passengers.

While public outcry about Neely's death has focused largely on the use of the chokehold,

few people seem to be concerned about the larger issue of the increasing dangers of urban life

due to lax Democrat crime policies and defund the police strategies from the Black Lives Matter crowd.

When citizens are left with fewer and fewer safety services and forced to physically encounter drug addiction, mental illness, and crime in daily life, they are essentially

left to fend for themselves. Democrat policies have left citizens helpless while abandoning

mentally unstable men like

Jordan Neely to the cruelty of homeless life. Violent interactions between law-abiding citizens

and bad actors are sure to increase in the absence of steady crime policies and intervention.

That increases the physical and safety risks for those law-abiding citizens,

and in turn makes the idea of intervening in dangerous public situations an increasingly risky

proposition. When someone decides to step up, the results can be disastrous, as with the Neely

situation. One man's compassion for his fellow riders

led to the death of a disturbed and needy young man. There are no winners here, only losers.

Democrat policies have killed compassion, and they are indirectly killing citizens who need help,

not free rein in public situations.

Stiff crime policies would have protected both parties in this very sad incident.
