Nice, generous, soft-spoken,

an incredibly special,

authentic, unique man who no one in the world has a bad word to say about him.

And I remember the first time I saw him at the Boston Comedy Club in Greenwich Village.

I don't know how long he'd been in the country.

Maybe five years, maybe longer.

And there was just something really special about him.

Something that I couldn't really put my finger on,

but, you know, he was so gentle, a young man, and to this day still the same way but so incredibly talented the premises

the punchlines how he carried himself in the room, how he carried himself on stage.

I'll never forget it. And when I think of Ian, I think of somebody who always works, always works, not only as a writer, but as a stand-up comedian.

Somebody you can go into the greatest clubs in the world like the comedy store

or the comedy seller and see him perform.
