And we're going to talk to you about beta lactam allergies, although we're also going to explain why they don't exist.

This is going to be a doozy, Josh.

So for everybody out there who had some confusions on how to approach these patients,

especially those patients that have allergy sensitization sheets that are longer than six pages,

this is a great way to address a major, major clinical conundrum.

Josh, in the new CODA error, what are we going to do here?

Yeah, so CODA was looking for suggestions as to how to address

emerging problems in global health. And I think antibiotic resistance is a big one. And a

rational approach to penicillin allergies is potentially one answer for that. So folks at Kota,

if you're listening, I think this could be something you could potentially address. So today,

then, we're going to cover three major areas. We're going to give you background

information on how supposed allergies can cause harm. We'll talk about the basic science and

our change and this is fundamental to the post. No podcast on drug reactions is legit, shall we say,

without a Coombs classification for drug reactions. We'll move on to the next section with techniques for the allergy management.

How to approach these patients.

Some tidbits there, graded challenges with skin tests, desensitization, and low allergenic drug choices.

And then last up, Josh is going to put it all together and assemble these techniques into core strategies for you to implement when you're

treating these patients.
