The subject of my investigation, the horrific, unprovoked, cold-blooded murders of four innocent students at the University of Idaho.

It's the biggest true crime case in America and the biggest trial on our docket at Court TV.

Here's the story.

On November 13th, 2022, four University of Idaho students, Kaley, Maddie, Zana, and Ethan were brutally stabbed to death in their off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho.

The shocking crime left the college town in fear as authorities searched for the killer after weeks of investigation

police arrested the suspect a 28 year old criminology phd student at washington state university

this suspect was linked to the crime through DNA evidence found on a knife sheath at the scene, cell phone records, and surveillance

footage of his white Hyundai Alantra near the victim's home. Prosecutors believe the suspect

planned the attack, although the motive remains unclear. He's been charged with four counts

of first-degree murder and burglary and maintains his

innocence. Both sides now are preparing for the trial and more information is being made public

about the evidence and circumstances surrounding this tragedy. Now one thing that you know about this case through the years as we've been covering it and other

people have been covering it as well. So a lot of the information coming out is very

limited about the evidence in the case. We got some early on with the arrest warrant. But since

then, you know, we've gotten little pieces from court hearings and then when either of the parties file motions, sometimes there's information in there that's new information.

Well, right now we've got some of that new information and this comes from a defense filing, right?

So it's the, it's the suspects attorneys who are filing this and making this information now public because they're looking for some relief.
