The Tories promise to cut net immigration from the hundreds of thousands to the tens of thousands,

but the latest immigration data suggests that net immigration is running at 298,000, one of the highest levels on record.

Immigration is up by 54,000.

Theresa May insist that it would have been 400,000 net immigration without her measures.
