0:06.4	Today we are reviewing what is quite possibly my favorite book of all time.
0:10.3	It's certainly had a massive impact on my life and it's called The Power of Myth by Joseph
0:15.6	Campbell.
0:16.6	It's actually originally recorded as an interview series between journalist Bill Moyers and
0:28.8	Joseph Campbell, the pre-immunite scholar of comparative religion and mythology.
0:33.9	And I've had the great pleasure of reading both the physical book and listening to the
0:37.6	original recordings and I have to say there's really no substitute for hearing the author's
0:42.2	voice especially because the book was pulled from the very conversational interview which
0:47.5	was recorded not too long before Campbell's death.
0:50.0	I read the book about 17 years ago and it left an indelible mark on me figuratively
0:54.9	and quite literally.
0:56.8	My credit of this book not only did planting the seed in my mind that would ultimately
0:59.9	blossom into impact theory but I also credit it was setting up my marriage on solid ground.
1:05.0	In many ways this book makes up the very foundation of my entire life philosophy.
1:11.5	And the reason for that is it made very clear to me that residing within mythology and
1:15.3	ritual are the universal, in fact the elemental truce of the human experience.
1:20.8	The Power of Myth was published by Penguin Random House Boys and Girls and I owe you guys
1:25.2	a huge debt of gratitude for this one so thank you.

1:33.6	While the particulars vary from culture to culture the underlying meaning behind mythology
