I was elected to the Hawaii State House when I was 21.

People asked and they're like, oh my gosh, you're too young.

Too young for what?

I saw things that I had not been exposed to before.

Tell me why you left the Democrat Party.

My position is equality for all Americans.

If this election goes in the direction of Donald Trump, would you accept a role in the administration?

Kelsey Gabbard is an interesting American.

You may know her because she's been in the headlines.

She was a rising star in the Democratic Party.

And then all of a sudden, story started floating around

that she, in fact, was a Russian spy.

She wound up on something called Quiet Skies, a terror watch list, and had air marshals

surrounding her any time she flew, even though she is to this day a lieutenant colonel in the Army reserves.

She's been deployed, she's fought for this country, and she has left the Democrat Party.

Spent some time as an independent, within the last week, she has declared herself a Republican.

I'm proud to stand here with you today, President Trump, and announce that I'm joining the Republican Party.

We sat down and talked about this really story journey that she's taken that wound up with

her being a Republican just in the last few days
