The so-called inflation reduction act has been getting a lot of media attention lately

and perhaps unsurprisingly that attention is related to things in that bill that have nothing

whatsoever to do with inflation reduction.

Instead, there has been a lot of concern about new funding for the IRS or Internal

Revenue Service and other changes to the IRS related to the $80 billion the new bill

will provide to the agency over a few years.

Specifically, there's been a lot of focus on the claim that the IRS will be hiring over $80,000 new

employees, some of whom will be allowed to use lethal force, but less focus has been paid to

how the IRS is part of this new bill will be moving taxes into the digital realm sooner rather

than later, propelling Americans deeper into the digital banking world where central bank digital

currencies, the subject of episode number 35 of this podcast are soon set to dominate.

In addition to new policies and powers for the IRS, it also appears that the inflation

reduction act is actually more like a climate change bill. As I've noted several times over the past

year, including on this podcast and elsewhere, there are efforts to make an entirely new

economic and financial system that is being ushered in under the guise of climate change

and none of the actual motivations behind those efforts are actually related to planetary

or environmental health. It is worth noting that the Inflation Reduction Act, despite its name

implying its main purpose is reducing inflation, has instead been heralded as America's first

significant climate legislation by outlets like Fortune Magazine among others. And indeed,

many of the policies within this bill are clearly aimed at moving the country closer to this new

quote-unquote green economic system as it creates a national green bank and the greenhouse gas reduction
